Dick is the Founder and CEO of Matrix Private Capital Group. He is responsible for guiding the firm’s strategy and operations in addition to advising clients and portfolio companies’ senior management teams in developing and implementing corporate strategies. Dick is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Lehman Brothers. He previously served as a member of the Business Council, the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum, the Board of Governors of the New York Stock Exchange, the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dick received his B.A. from the University of Colorado and his M.B.A. from the New York University Stern School of Business.
Matt is the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and co-leads the firm’s Wealth Advisory business. Matt has extensive experience advising clients in the areas of investment policy, strategic and tactical asset allocation and customized portfolio implementation. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Neuberger Berman where he chaired the firm’s Asset Allocation Committee and was Chief Investment Officer of the Trust Company. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Matt was integral in developing the ultra-high net worth capabilities and practice at U.S. Trust Company and was an executive vice president at a large single-family office. He began his career in the Private Wealth Management division of Morgan Stanley having graduated summa cum laude from Stony Brook University.
Marc co-leads the firm’s Private Equity business and supports Strategic Advisory client relationships. As Chief Operating Officer, Marc is also responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the firm. Prior to Matrix Private Capital Group, Marc spent eight years at Matrix Advisors and five years at Lehman Brothers, with experience in investment banking, strategic advisory, direct investing and executing proprietary M&A transactions in Lehman Brothers’ Corporate Strategy Group. Marc graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College.
Rob co-leads the firm’s Private Equity business and supports Strategic Advisory client relationships. In addition, Rob is responsible for managing the firm’s strategic initiatives. Prior to Matrix Private Capital Group, Rob spent five years at Matrix Advisors, where he primarily executed real estate investment transactions and worked closely with strategic advisory clients. Prior to Matrix Advisors, Rob was an investment banking analyst at Cronus Partners, where he worked on M&A transactions in the oil and gas, information technology and industrial manufacturing industries. Rob graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University.
Mr. Weissman is a wealth advisor and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with over 20 years of experience working with affluent families, executives and entrepreneurs. He has built his practice on three principles: putting clients’ interests first, providing exceptional service, and taking an integrated approach to comprehensive wealth management. Prior to joining Matrix, Mr. Weissman was an Executive Director, President’s Club-level wealth advisor and Alternative Investment Director at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Weissman was honored to be named to the 2019 Forbes Best-in-State financial advisor list for Illinois. Mr. Weissman began his career at ABN AMRO Bank as a credit analyst and grew into a lending capacity with the bank’s North American subsidiary, LaSalle National Bank. He graduated from Indiana University.
Mr. Bruce joins after 15 years at Morgan Stanley in Chicago. While there, Mr. Bruce was First Vice President, Alternative Investment Director and Century Club-level financial advisor. In 2018, he was honored to be named to the Forbes List of America’s Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors. Mr. Bruce takes pride in building sophisticated, creative and customized portfolio solutions for affluent families scattered throughout the country. He began his career at Deutsche Asset Management after earning his B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign.
Tom leads the firm’s Alternative Equity business and is Principal Portfolio Manager of the Matrix Highline Management. Prior to Matrix Private Capital Group, Tom spent ten years at Neuberger Berman. He was a Senior Vice President of Neuberger Berman and senior securities analyst for the Neuberger Berman Multi-Cap Opportunities Strategy with investment responsibilities across market capitalizations and sectors. Previously, Tom was an associate in the Office of the Chief Investment Officer and helped establish Neuberger Berman’s Investment Strategy Group. He began his career as an analyst at Lehman Brothers. Tom graduated magna cum laude from Colby College.
Monte leads the firm’s expansion in the Southeast and is responsible for managing our wealth advisory practice and talent acquisition in the region. Monte brings to Matrix nearly two decades of experience advising affluent families and foundations on all matters pertaining to their investment strategy and financial wellbeing. Prior to Matrix Private Capital Group, Monte served as Managing Director for an independent, private multi-family office. Previously, he served as a Vice President with Neuberger Berman and began his financial career with Sanford Bernstein. Monte graduated from S.U.N.Y Albany.
Lance is a Wealth Advisor with over a decade of experience advising affluent families, executives and entrepreneurs. He works closely with his clients to develop personalized wealth solutions to meet their long-term financial goals. Lance is responsible for building and managing the firm’s Southern California wealth management office. Prior to joining the firm, Lance was a Vice President and Wealth Advisor at Neuberger Berman and began his career at American Express Financial Advisors. He received a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Northern Colorado.
Rich is responsible for the firm’s finance and accounting, regulatory and tax compliance and office management. Prior to joining Matrix, Rich spent 20 years as the Chief Financial Officer of KR Capital Advisors, Inc., an institutional investment adviser and hedge fund manager. Prior to KR Capital Advisors, Rich worked for Montgomery Securities, CS First Boston Investment Management and Seymour Schneidman & Associates (presently known as Anchin, Block & Anchin), a CPA firm with a specialty in servicing financial services clients. Rich is a CPA and graduated from Binghamton University’s School of Management.
Ryan leads the development of the firm’s investment platform and serves on the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Matrix Private Capital Group, Ryan co-managed $2 billion of client assets for City National Rochdale, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada, in the New York office. He began his career in private wealth management at U.S. Bank’s Private Client Reserve in Los Angeles. Other previous employers include The Walt Disney Company, Wood Creek Capital Management, GE Capital Energy Financial Services, and Genworth Financial. Ryan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of the CFA Society of New York. He graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and received his M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.
Michelle is primarily responsible for supporting all facets of a client relationship in the Wealth Advisory business. Prior to Matrix Private Capital Group, Michelle was a Client Relations Manager for an independent, private multi-family office. Previously, she worked with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net worth families both domestically and internationally at Neuberger Berman, J.P. Morgan, and Merrill Lynch. Michelle graduated from Emory University.
Charlie is a member of the Private Equity investment team. His primary responsibilities include financial modeling, due diligence, and transaction origination and structuring. Charlie also supports the firm’s Strategic Advisory business. Prior to joining Matrix Private Capital Group, Charlie was an investment banking analyst at Fieldstone Private Capital Group focused on financial analysis and due diligence for M&A and capital solicitation assignments in renewable and thermal power, infrastructure, energy efficiency and alternative fuels. Charlie graduated from the University of Vermont.
